Valley High School Courtyard Project

Currently the Art Department is in the process of planning a public art installation in the courtyard of our school.  Instead of just painting a mural, we want to go big and make a huge statement.  

 

This courtyard, the Horseshoe, is in horrible condition and in dire need of renovation, but the school has no money to pay for it.  Please see my website,sbray1.wix.com/valleyhighschool , for further explanation, more pictures, and just to get to know us better.  

 

The public art work is scheduled to be installed this Spring (2015), but any renovation of the Horseshoe would take place during the summer when school is not in session.  Our goal is to remove most of the grass (which is mostly dirt/mud and replace with hardscaping/concrete.  We would like to create planters to surround the two trees and create more seating for students to enjoy the space and soon to be placed public art.

A thriving arts department can be the crown jewel of a fantastic school.  To motivate students to be involved in the school community, we must ensure access to quality performing arts programs.  Help us brighten the world, one child at a time.

 

Performing Arts Department needs:

6 hanging microphones for theater use  $4000 

Vikette uniforms for performances $800

Theater light gel covers:  $200

Video camera / tripod for department use (record concerts, audition tapes etc): $600

Marching band drum heads:

Bass drums:  8 @ $50=$400

Tenor drums:  12 @ $15=$180

Snare drums:  3 @ $20=$60

Marching band drum major podiums:  2 @ $1500=$3000

Essential Technique method books: 25 @ $5.95=$148.75

Valley Weightroom Upgrades

 

Valley has a long legacy of athletics, but we are stuck in the past in terms of equipment.  Our weightroom is in desperate need of an upgrade to match the level of excellence we expect from our athletes.

We have 4 major projects that we need funding for to help Valley High School. From our courtyard where our students eat and study, to our weight room to help provide a better phyisical education to helping out our liberal arts get the proper supplies for next year.
